The Royal Wedding may be the social media event of the year
(CBSNews/What's Trending) There's no surprise that the marriage of the eventual successors to the throne of England, "William & Kate", would be trending on Twitter. What's interesting is how early this trend is beginning to bubble since Prince William and Kate Middleton are trending over a week before their wedding on April 29th.
What did it? Both a Lifetime show featuring lookalikes chronicling the royal couple's real life romance and an ABC 20/20 special aired last night. Look for the volume on this social topic to explode over the coming 10 days, culminating in a James Cameron sized live stream production of the wedding itself.
YouTube has even teamed up with The Royal Channel, the official channel of the British Monarchy to stream the broadcast. Fans can now upload their own video messages for the couple.
