The Prince Of Hearts
It may seem hard to believe, but it's been almost 18 years since Prince Charles and Princess Diana introduced their firstborn, Prince William, to the public.
Since the handsome young prince turned 18, it signaled an end to press' self-imposed arms-length approach. The informal deal came about with the death three years ago of his mother, Princess Diana.
In anticipation of Prince William's birthday, Talk magazine put together a chart with a group of females that the prince may want to consider marrying. To accompany the chart, contributing writer Daisy Garnett prepared an article titled Who Wants to Marry a Gagillionaire? She visited The Early Show to explain.
Garnett says, according to her sources, Prince William hasn't been seen dating much, but that he does date. "His friends say he's a ladies man, but I don't think he's serious about anyone," she adds.
The writer says several women on the magazine's list are possible candidates for an arranged marriage. But the other names on the list are there for fun, speculation and a joke on the magazine editors' part. William hasn't met most of the women on this list.
THE SUITABLES
Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, 20, is a society girl with an aristocratic bloodline. She comes from the south of England and is a student at the University of Edinburgh, which Prince William plans to attend. The readers of the British magazine Tatler voted her the eighth most datable woman. According to Garnett, Isabella and the prince have never met.

Emma Parker Bowles |
"Nothing much came of it," she reports. "But, still, it's pretty good, to snog a 25-year-old when you're only 17."
Athina Roussel, 15, granddaughter of the late Greek shipping mogul, Aristotle Onassis. "She'd be suitable. She's incredibly rich," observes Garnett. They share an interest in horses.
"On the one hand, William is the traditional Windsor boy," Garnett explains. "And on the other side, he is much more like his mother, not the neurotic Spencer side, but the jet-setting, partying, tan skin, debonair side that like yachts, shopping and wearing designer clothes."
PRINCE WILLIAM'S CUP OF TEA
Britney Spears |
She says Spears fits the type that she has heard William likes. "He likes cheap and cheerful blondes on the whole," she explains. "I mean that in the nicest way. I'm a cheap and cheerful blonde. I mean, that he is not looking for the beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow type."
Elizabeth Jagger |
Elizabeth, reports Garnett, has been raised to marry a prince. Her father hangs out with Princess Margaret (William's great-aunt), so it's not inconceivable that they would meet. But, Garnett adds, Elizabeth may not want William, because she's "rather feisty."

UNLIKELY, BUT NOT UNTHINKABLE
Serena Williams |
"His family is a family of matrons," says Garnett. "He should be good with a strong athletic woman, and she seems lke a terrific girl."
Natalie Portman |
Garnett adds, "They both have these fabulous A education's. She's a dream girl and she's talented and clever. She would be like Monaco's Princess Grace."
