"The Mentalist" marks 100-episode milestone
CBS threw a party for its Sunday night drama "The Mentalist" on Saturday night at the Edison in Los Angeles.
The gala, which featured a red carpet and a giant cake, marked the 100th episode of the police show about a former con man working as a consultant with the fictional California Bureau of Investigation.
The show's ensemble cast - Simon Baker, Robin Tunney, Owain Yeoman, Tim Kang and Amanda Rightetti - attended, as did director Bruno Heller and executives at CBS and Warner Brothers.
An hour-long police procedural, "The Mentalist" first went on the air in the fall of 2008 and began its fifth season on Sept. 30. It originally aired on Thursdays but was moved this year to Sundays.
