"The Lone Ranger" final theatrical trailer premieres
Hi yo, Silver, away! The Lone Ranger rides again.
Disney premiered the third and final theatrical trailer for its adaptation of "The Lone Ranger" on Wednesday.
Unlike the first two trailers, this latest offering seems catered to younger viewers who may not be familiar with "The Lone Ranger" radio serials from the 1930s and '40s or the groundbreaking 1950s TV series starring Clayton Moore.
In this latest incarnation, Armie Hammer plays ex-Texas ranger John Reid, the seemingly ordinary man who eventually morphs into the masked vigilante.
Decked out in full Native Americanmakeup and headgear, Johnny Depp stars as the Ranger's infamous sidekick Tonto, who also serves as the film's narrator.
"The Lone Ranger" comes from Gore Verbinski, the director who previously worked with Depp on "Rango" and the first three "Pirates of the Carribean" films.
Their latest collaboration will be riding into theaters on July 3.
