"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" teaser: President Snow addresses Panem
The first official teaser for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" is here, and it contains an important (and sinister) message from President Snow -- and someone very important is there beside him.
Like the "District Heroes" posters released earlier this week, the video is stylized as a propaganda video directly addressing the people of Panem from Snow (Donald Sutherland) and the Capitol.
"Since the dark days, our great nation has known only peace. Ours is an elegant system, conceived to nourish and protect," the leader, clad in white, begins. "Your districts are the body. The Capitol is the beating heart. Your hard work feeds us, and in return, we feed and protect you."
Then Snow's words become more chilling. "But if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed," he warns.
The camera slowly pans out, and then we see that Snow isn't alone. Next to him is none other than Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), who was captured by the Capitol at the end of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." He's staring off into the distance, but faces the camera head-on as the video ends.
"Mockingjay - Part 1" opens in theaters on Nov. 21.
