"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" to screen at Rome Film Festival
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will be shown at this year's Rome Film Festival, organizers announced Thursday.
The second installment in the dystopian film franchise will be presented out of competition at the festival on Nov. 14, three days after its world premiere in London and eight days before it's released in U.S. theaters.
"Catching Fire" is based on the second book in Suzanne Collins' bestselling trilogy, and picks up after Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark return home following their victory at the 74th annual Hunger Games.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson all reprise their roles from the first film, and are joined by franchise newcomers like Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone and Sam Claflin.
The Rome Film Festival's announcement did not say whether any of the movie's stars would be attending the screening.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" opens on Nov. 22.
