The Feed's Supplemental Friday Music Round-Up: Trivia edition

(CBS News) Ahhh, "Friday." Is that not the loveliest word in the English language? Even better, do you know what today, April 12, is? That's right, it's bestselling author Tom Clancy's 66th birthday! Happy birthday, Tom! Let's do drinks later. (You pay!) Other notable events that occurred on April 12 according to Wikipedia: the first human traveled into space, the polio vaccine was declared safe for use and the American Civil War began. (Obviously not all on the same April 12 as Tom Clancy's 66th birthday, read a book!) And, finally, on April 12, 2013, The Feed's Supplemental Friday Music Round-Up: "Trivia edition" appeared on the Internet for the first time.

Speaking of things that sound like history and really awkward transitions, the Cold War Kids have finally released a new album! And along with it, we get a music video for their song "Miracle Mile." Love the song, love the video. Don't change a single thing, guys. Seriously, it rocks!

Our second item is a really cool music video for the song "Separation Blues" by Real Ones. It's the story of a man who is probably regretting not signing a pre-nuptial agreement as all his things literally crawl out of the house after his ex-wife. I guess that's why you never marry a magician. I've personally never been divorced (Yet! Thankfully, there's still plenty of time for me, I'm aiming for 2023!), but I'd imagine this video captures the feeling pretty well. Then again, like I said, I have no knowledge, experience or authority in any aspect of this issue. All I know is that this video directed by André Chocron at Frokost Film is amazing and you should watch it right now.

Our video request of the week is for Nick Kosir, everyone's favorite rapping weatherman. This is by far the best weather inspired rap performed in front of a green screen showing the week's weather that I've ever seen. Kosir finally gives us a look into the world of the weatherman with lines like this: "Ladies love a weatherman, even on a cloudy day. Guess that makes us 50 shades of Gray!" Sounds glamorous! It's Kosir's sixth live weather rap, and he's definitely still got it. Remember everyone, Nick Kosir: he makes it rain!

Up next: Gollum! That lovable scamp from "The Lord of the Rings" who was always trying to "murder the nasty hobitses," has been working on his tan and launched his musical career. Check out Gollum-voiced human being Ian Walters' awesome cover of Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." The video is a collaboration with Buzzfeed, and probably my favorite Gollum cover so far (the fact that I even have a list is somewhat worrying). What can I say, it's just great to see the guy bounce back so quickly from burning to death in a volcano in the final "The Lord of the Rings" movie. And you can check out Ian Walters' other Gollum covers by clicking here.

That's all for this week's Supplemental Friday Music Round-Up, have a good weekend and, as always, be sure to check out the regular Friday Music Round-Up here.
