(CBS) Going through Christopher Meloni withdrawal? The ex-"Law and Order SVU" star declined a 13 season as Detective Elliot Stabler on the NBC cop drama show due to a disagreement over his contract, and fans have been feeling his absence ever since.

If you're one of the many who miss the hotheaded Detective Elliot Stabler, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" might have a cure. On last night's episode, Meloni spoofed the genre by playing a rouge law enforcement official with an itchy finger on the pepper spray.

The sketch was satirizing the recent news story about young women who had been repeatedly pepper sprayed by Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna during the "Occupy Wall Street" protests in New York City.

In the clip, Meloni -- named Melogna for comedic reasons -- plays crazed cop Bologna, whose backup consists of excessive amounts of pepper spray. Even though his department takes his shield, Bologna still sprays anyone without abandon, from the man who put sauerkraut on his hot dog to the bystander that happened to get in his way.

The name of the theoretical show? "The Vigilogna."

"Crime doesn't spray," Meloni said at the end of the clip. "But I do."

Yes, we understand it's not Stabler and Benson working together again, but Meloni back in his NYPD blues? We'll take what we can get.
