"The Book Thief" comes to life in new trailer
The first trailer for the upcoming drama "The Book Thief" was released online on Wednesday.
The new film starring Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson is based off of the young adult novel of the same name by Australian author Markus Zusak.
Narrated by Death and detailing the harsh conditions of life in Nazi Germany, the book became a New York Times bestseller when it was first released in 2006.
In the story, young Liesel (Sophie Nelisse) gets sent to live with a pair of adoptive parents (Rush, Watson) in a suburb outside Munich. Liesel takes comforts from the chaos around her by learning how to read. Matters get more complicated when a Jewish refugee, Max, (Ben Schnetzer) secretly comes to live with Liesel and her parents.
"The Book Thief" hits theaters on Nov. 15.
