The 16 things Michele Bachmann will miss about being in Congress
Many retiring lawmakers opt to commemorate their final days in the Capitol with a speech on the floor of the chamber in which they served.
Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota congresswoman and 2012 presidential candidate, did it with a Buzzfeed list (although with about two weeks left before the end of the session, she could still read her list on the House floor).
Entitled, "16 Things I'll Miss About Being in Congress," the post - which bears Bachmann's byline - fluctuates between sentimental, silly and snarky.
There are photos of the congresswoman smoking a cigar (number 16: "smoke-filled rooms") and eating ice cream with President George W. Bush. Bachmann will miss her presence in the popular culture, even if she's been part of the joke--she included a photo of "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) actor Taran Killam and singer Miley Cyrus, who played House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Bachmann in a 2013 SNL skit about shutting down the government (number 12: "You never know who you'll run into").
Number eight on the list is "Friendly chats with Nancy Pelosi"--that item shows a photo of Bachmann and the House Minority Leader standing back to back, engaged in separate conversations. Number six is "MSNBC's even-handed reporting," including screen shots of shows where she was labeled the "worser" conservative figure or had hosts insult her intelligence.
And in number five, "Access to some of the greatest minds," she includes a photo of herself shaking hands with Vice President Joe Biden.
And, don't miss Bachmann reciting lines from Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" in number four, "Speech prep with my staff."
