Texas A&M Shooting: Suspect taken into custody, several people injured, report says
(CBS/AP) COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Several people, including two officers, were reportedly injured Monday during a shooting near the campus of Texas A&M University.
A suspect was taken into custody just before 1 p.m., reports CBS affiliate KHOU.
A witness reportedly told the station that gunfire was exchanged between the suspected shooter and law enforcement.
The university issued an alert on its website just before 12:30 p.m. Monday warning of an active shooter near the campus football stadium, Kyle Field. The warning told residents and students to avoid the area.
College Station is about 90 miles northwest of Houston.
