Woman charged for posing as nurse in Bobbi Kristina Brown case
ATLANTA -- A woman accused of posing as a nurse at the hospice where Bobbi Kristina Brown spent her final days has been charged with practicing nursing without a license.
Gwinnett County jail records show that Taiwo Sobamowo is being held on charges of practicing registered nursing with no license.
Brown, the only child of singers Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, died July 26, six months after she was found face-down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Roswell townhome in January 2015.
CBS affiliate WGCL previously reported that Sobamowo provided fake credentials, showing she was licensed to work as a registered nurse. She was terminated from the facility on Aug. 5 after she was unable to provide the proper proof of licensure.
A police report states that Sobamowo was in charge of caring for Bobbi Kristina Brown at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, where Brown spent the final days before her death. There is no indication in the Duluth police report that Brown's care was adversely affected by Sobamowo.
The case involving Sobamowo began in September, when investigators in Forsyth County began looking into her background after they received a tip raising questions about Sobamowo, who had worked at an assisted living facility.
On Oct. 27, Forsyth County sheriff's Detective Cpl. Jeffrey Roe contacted Duluth police "in reference to a high-profile case" that Duluth has some jurisdiction over, Duluth police wrote in a previous report.
"Our investigation has revealed no license or registration on record through the Georgia Board of Nursing for Sobamowo," Duluth police said in a previous statement on the case.
