Swiped Texas newborn found alive after mom shot dead
(CBS/AP) HOUSTON - A newborn baby has been found in good condition in Texas after someone shot his mother to death outside a doctor's office.
Authorities say they have charged a woman with capital murder in connection with the incident.
The child was stolen Tuesday in Spring, Texas, a Houston suburb.
Three-day-old Keegan Schuchardt was found alive Tuesday night, hours after his mother was gunned down in a parking lot near Houston.

The victim's husband, Kevin Schuchardt, says, "She was nice, sweet, lovable. I loved her, she loved me, and everything was going fine -- until today."
Authorities say 28-year-old Kala Golden was leaving a pediatrician's office with her son when she apparently got into an argument with another woman in a parked car.
Witnesses say the woman shot Golden several times before grabbing the child from his car seat and speeding away. Golden fought desperately to hang on, screaming for her baby.
"She tried to get the child from the vehicle, and she was dragged to the ground as the car took off," says Lt. Dan Norris, of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
"She was laying on the ground," one witness says, "and she wasn't moving for nothing, but then I saw a blue Lexus drive off."
Police immediately issued an Amber alert and sealed off the parking lot. They raided a nearby apartment complex and later hauled away a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect's car.
Baby Keegan was found at another location, and authorities were conducting a background check on his entire family before releasing him.
"Obviously," says Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon, "when you've got a kidnapping case or an aggravated kidnapping case on top of a murder, this is dire circumstances."
Ligon says Verna McClain has been charged in the case. McClain has confessed, according to Houston radio station KTRH.
Now, Golden's husband is trying to come to grips with raising his three children without a mother. "It's hard man, it's hard," says Kevin Schuchardt. "I'm going to miss her a lot."
