Susan Boyle Gets A New Do
As Susan Boyle sang for us last week, she understood the reason she had become an instant sensation.
"If I don't look good, I can sing pretty well," the 47-year-old crooner told CBS News partner network Sky News.
And that was the point, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Phillips. The world, including the judges on the show that made her famous, hoped out loud that she wouldn't change.
"We'll keep her as she is," show judge Amanda Holden told CBS last week. "Keep her as she is. I don't want to turn her into a glamour-puss because we are all rooting for the underdog here."
Well, a week is a long time in show business.
Long enough for Susan Boyle to go from a slightly frumpy, modestly dressed lady with "bird's nest" hair, into something a bit more polished.
A new, $50 hair-do, including a tint job for the songstress has made headline news in just about all of Britain's tabloids.
"Britain's Got Talent", the show that made her an overnight superstar, says Susan's a grown woman and can do what she likes with her hair.
Phillips reports that her millions of fans can now decide on what has become one of the great issues of our time.
