"Survivor: San Juan Del Sur - Blood vs. Water": Hot or not?

As you may know, the 29th season of "Survivor" premiered Wednesday night on CBS.

The "Blood vs. Water" twist includes a new cast of 18 players: husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, twin sisters, fathers and sons, and mothers and daughters.

In the first episode, tears were shed, hearts were broken, and faces were poisoned.

Let's take a look at the hottest and not-so-hot moments of the season premiere.

Hot: Former MLB player John Rocker helping his team gain an early lead in the challenge by hoisting Baylor, the cheerleader, up on his massive baseball pitching shoulders.

Not: Nadiyah, from "Amazing Race" fame, constantly calling gay Broadway performer, Josh, "one of the girls."

Hot: Not one, not two, but three firefighters competing on the show.

Not: Father/son firefighters lose their striker and break their flint, making it impossible for them to start a fire.

Hot: Former Miss USA Jaclyn, along with Kelly, the farmer's daughter, and John Rocker's girlfriend, Julie McGee... need I say more?

Not: Male model, Alec Christy's major ego-tripping.

This new season already has some standout characters for us to sink our teeth into.

Buckle up, because the "Blood vs. Water" twist of "Survivor: San Juan Del Sur" promises to make it one dramatic, emotional roller coaster.
