NFL legend Jerry Rice goes undercover as a Lyft driver

SAN FRANCISCO -- Aside from quarterback Joe Montana, Jerry Rice may be the most famous 49er from San Francisco's Super Bowl glory years.

In Super Bowl XXIII, Rice caught 11 passes for 215 yards to lead the 49ers to a 20-16 victory over Cincinnati. His performance earned him MVP honors.

San Francisco-based ride-hailing company Lyft thought it would be fun to have Rice go undercover as a driver named "J" and see if passengers recognized him, CBS San Francisco reports.

When asked what his favorite team is, a rider tells Rice - "I grew up as a Niner ... My whole family has been Niners families. I have photos of me dressed up as Niners."

But the unsuspecting rider had no idea the driver was Jerry Rice.

The 49ers legend tells another rider his dream "is to be an actor." She chuckles, replying, "I see."

He gets another to sing and another woman to hop out of the car and dance with him.

All of them never recognize the Hall of Famer until he tells them his true identity.
