Sunday: Graham, Manchin, Navarro, and Pollack

On Wednesday, the Trump administration hosted another televised White House discussion seeking to jumpstart gun legislation, this time gathering members of Congress. But instead of bridging divides, the meeting only complicated an already chaotic national debate in which companies too are facing pressure to choose sides.

Lawmakers were taken aback by some of the president's comments, including a suggestion to bypass due process in gun confiscations and an accusation that Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pennsylvania, was "afraid" of the NRA.

The president's announcement Thursday of stiff new steel and aluminum tariffs prompted further backlash from Republicans, and praise from some Democrats, sending markets plummeting on the prospect of a possible trade war. The decision seemed even to take some White House aides by surprise.

And despite a Russian plan for humanitarian "pauses," Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad's brutal offensive this week continued to massacre civilians in eastern Ghouta. An estimated 400,000 remain trapped in the bombardment.

This Sunday on "Face the Nation" (@FaceTheNation), we'll bring you the latest on all that and more with moderator and CBS News senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan (@margbrennan).
