Sunday: America in 2017
This Sunday, on the first day of the New Year, “Face the Nation” will reflect on the many faces of America – and what 2017 may bring for the country and the world.
First, we’ll hear from a book panel of authors with diverse perspectives on the American experience. We’ll be joined by Isabel Wilkerson, the author of “The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration,” J.D. Vance, the author of “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis,” Diane Guerrero, the author of “In the Country We Love: My Family Divided,” and Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, the author of “Muslim Girl: A Coming of Age.”
Also, we’ll sit down with four big thinkers to examine the challenges – and opportunities – that 2017 will present. We’ll get analysis from Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, journalist Michele Norris of the Race Card Project, Michael Gerson of the Washington Post, and David Frum of the Atlantic.
It’s going to be an exciting and enlightening broadcast, so make sure you tune in or set your DVR! Check your local listings for airtimes.
