Stefanie Powers' Memoir Details Affair With William Holden
(CBS) "One From the Hart," a memoir by "Hart to Hart" actress Stefanie Powers that hits stores Tuesday, details Powers' nine-year relationship with Oscar-winning actor William Holden.
Holden, who was 63 when he died in 1981, shared his passion for African wildlife and conservation with Powers. After his death, she founded William Holden Wildlife Foundation to carry on his efforts in Kenya, where Powers still lives part time.
A portion of the Amazon sales of her 272-page book published by Gallery will benefit the foundation.
The actress, who turns 68 on the day her memoir is published, started her career as a stage and screen actress but gained fame on TV, first in "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." and then opposite Robert Wagner in the 1980s TV series "Hart To Hart."
She just finished a summer-stock run in Maine of "Sunset Boulevard" and will be performing for a week at Feinstein's at the Regency in New York, starting Nov. 16.
In January, she will be honored by PBS in New York as a Pioneer of Television.
