Statement coming from prosecutor in Martin case
(CBS News) - The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case says she'll release new information about her investigation within the next few days.
What information special prosecutor Angela Corey will reveal is uncertain. But Tuesday's emergency press conference held by Robert Zimmerman's now former lawyers Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig left plenty of unanswered questions.
The lawyers said they no longer represent Zimmerman and have lost contact with him.
Zimmerman's lawyers withdraw from shooting case
Sonner said, "Up to this point, we've had contact every day." Sonner and Uhrig say Sunday was the last time they heard from Zimmerman.
"He's not returning my messages, he's not returning my texts, he's not returning my emails, he won't even give me a collect call," Sonner said.
Ben Crump, attorney for Trayvon Martin's parents, is worried that no one knows where Zimmerman is. Crump said, "We're concerned that he might be a flight risk, that nobody knows where he's at. That he can get in contact with you, but you can't get in contact with him."
Dropping all communication with his lawyers was the latest unusual move by Zimmerman. Over the weekend, he set up his own website to collect donations, updating it Tuesday by writing, "I am attempting to respond to each and every one of my supporters personally. The support has been overwhelming in volume and strength."

Zimmerman also apparently upset his legal team by placing an off-the-record phone call to Fox News' Sean Hannity, who confirmed the call, but little else on his show Tuesday night.
Hannity said, "He reached out to me and we spoke on the phone about his case and I agreed not to report on the contents of that conversation. That's it. I know nothing about his relationship with his now former attorneys."
The final straw, Uhrig said, came Tuesday, when Zimmerman reached out to the case's special prosecutor Angela Corey.
"One of the things every defense attorney tells his client is, 'Don't talk to the prosecutors,'" Uhrig said. "'Don't talk to the cops,' frankly, 'Don't talk to anybody until we get control of the situation and do it through counsel.'"
Now, because Zimmerman had legal counsel at the time he called the special prosecutor, she refused to talk to him. But until he reaches out to someone again, those close to the case know very little about his location or condition. His former lawyers did say they believed he was in the country, though not in Florida.
