Springsteen's manager dishes on new album
(CBS) Bruce Springsteen hasn't announced many details about his upcoming album yet. What we do know is that it will feature the E Street Band and it's coming out this year.
But his longtime manager Jon Landau is dishing on what fans can expect from the Boss' first album since the death of his friend and band mate, E Street saxophonist Clarence Clemons.

Landau told Rolling Stone magazine the album is a "big-picture piece of work. It's a rock record that combines elements of both Bruce's classic sound and his 'Seeger Sessions' experience, with new textures and styles."
For the album, Springsteen teamed up with producer Ron Aniello, whose resume includes work with Candlebox, Barenaked Ladies and Springsteen's wife Patti Scialfa. Landau says that the album is "an experimental effort with a new producer." In addition to the E Street Band, the new material is expected to feature guitarist Tom Morello and possibly former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain.
The music will have "social overtones" and a "very pronounced spiritual dimension," said Landau.
Springsteen will soon take the new songs on the road with the E Street Band. No U.S. dates have been announced yet, but insiders tell Rolling Stone that arenas have already been booked for March. An album release has not been announced.
Last weekend, Springsteen performed a two-hour set with Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers at The Light of Day benefit concert in Asbury Park, N.J.
