John Kasich is expected to announce the suspension of his presidential campaign Wednesday, leaving Donald Trump standing as the lone candidate in the Republican race for the White House.

That news started the social media eulogies, as "John Kasich" began to trend on Twitter Wednesday, shortly after the ominous announcement that the Ohio governor would be holding a press conference later in the afternoon.
