Slumber Party Girls' Careers Wide Awake
The Slumber Party Girls haven't had much time to rest since they were chosen from among more than 1,000 who auditioned this summer to be part of the music and dance group.
The five making the cut were Lina Carattini, 17, of Indiana; Karla Deras, 17, of California; Caroline Ferguson-Scott, 15, of Tennessee; Mallory Low, 17, of California; and Cassie Scerbo, 17, of New York.
The Slumber Party Girls debuted in September as hosts of the new CBS Saturday kids' programming block, "KOL's Secret Slumber Party," and they serve as the house band for the dance competition series "Dance Revolution!"
Their first CD, "Dance Revolution," hit stores Tuesday, when they visited The Early Show.
Since meeting at the summer audition, the girls have been on the fast track. They've got so much on their plate, they weren't able to go back to school this fall. They're being home-schooled now.
Aside from their Saturday duties and the CD, they are working on a sitcom with CBS for next fall, and there's a movie in the works, as well.
"We've been really busy, working pretty much 24-7 together since the start of July," Ferguson-Scott told Hannah Storm. "So, we've gotten really close. It's a great chemistry now."
She says the new album has "something for everyone. It's a huge mix. There's rock and R&B and pop and reggaeton and salsa and a bilingual song (in English and Spanish)."
The girls wowed the audience in The Early Show's plaza when they did a single from the CD called "Countdown."
