"Sin City: A Dame to Kill for" trailer No. 2 debuts
Times are tough for the hard-nosed characters in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill for."
A new teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel from Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez made its online debut Wednesday.
"Death is just like life in Sin City," cast member Bruce Willis says in the new clip, "It always wins."
"A Dame to Kill For" is composed of four vignettes, all of them written by Miller. Two of the segments are based on stories from Miller's popular "Sin City" graphic novel series -- "A Dame to Kill for" and "Just Another Saturday Night."
As with the original 2005 film adaptation, Miller and Rodriguez worked as co-directors together on the sequel. "A Dame to Kill For" will mostly serve as a prequel to its predecessor, with all but one of the vignettes taking place before the events of the first film.
In addition to Willis, the sequel's cast also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Eva Green, Ray Liotta and pop star Lady Gaga among others.
You can see most of them in the new teaser below, which also includes a cameo appearance by Miller and Rodriguez. They can be seen at roughly the 1:37 mark, seated next to each other on the right side of the poker table.
"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" opens in 2D and IMAX 3D theaters nationwide on Aug. 22.
