The NBA hasn't even started its next season, and already Shaquille O'Neal wants to fight his "Inside the NBA" co-star Charles Barkley.

O'Neal, who retired this spring after 19 years in the league and will join Barkley on the TNT analysis show, listed the former Philadelphia 76ers star among the five players he'd like to take on in a mixed martial arts fight.

"I don't know about this new NBA ... so I'm going to answer that with some old-school players," O'Neal says in an interview to be broadcast Friday night on HDNet's "Inside MMA." (If you haven't heard of HDNet, the last 30 seconds of the clip below is a commercial for the network.)

Along with Barkley, O'Neal also picked former Utah Jazz forward Karl Malone, former journeyman forward Xavier McDaniel and former New York Knicks forward Charles Oakley.

Rounding out O'Neal's list was his former boss, Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, "to throw a white guy in there.

"Danny Ainge one time bit Tree Rollins' finger almost off in a match," O'Neal said, referencing the former Atlanta Hawks center.

O'Neal broke his "old-school" rule and named one current NBA player, which could be a subtle joke considering this would-be fighter wants to change his name to Metta World Peace.

"Ron Artest, you know, you could probably put in there," said O'Neal, "but other than that I'm not sure."
