Shaq Leads All-NBA Team
The vote was finally unanimous for Shaquille O'Neal.
The Los Angeles Lakers' center, who was one vote short of unanimous in the balloting for the NBA's MVP, became only the sixth player since 1982 to be a unanimous choice for the league's all-star team.
He was joined on the first team by Seattle's Gary Payton, Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, San Antonio's Tim Duncan and Jason Kidd of Phoenix.
O'Neal joins some august company.
The only unanimous choices in the past 18 seasons were Michael Jordan (four times), Larry Bird (three times), Karl Malone (twice), and Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley (once each.)
The team was selected by 121 writers and broadcasters who cover the league.
The second team includes Malone, Detroit's Grant Hill, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Miami's Alonzo Mourning and Philadelphia's Allen Iverson.
The third team included Sacramento's Chris Webber, Toronto's Vince Carter, San Antonio's David Robinson, Charlotte's Eddie Jones and New Jersey's Stephon Marbury.
