Seth MacFarlane, Emma Stone to announce Oscar nominations
Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards will be announced Thursday by host Seth MacFarlane and actress Emma Stone.
This is the first time since 1972 that an Oscars host has participated in the nominations announcement, the Academy said Monday. Charlton Heston is the only other host to have participated in revealing the names of the nominees.
MacFarlane and Stone will announce the nominees from the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills, Calif., beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT. CBSNews.com will webcast the announcement live on Thursday morning.
Stone, the star of films like "The Help," "Easy A" and "Crazy, Stupid, Love." and "The Amazing Spider-Man," will be seen next in "Gangster Squad," which arrives in theaters later this month.
MacFarlane, creator of the animated TV shows "Family Guy" and "American Dad," was announced as the Oscars host in October.
The Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, Feb. 24, from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC.
