Second Cup Café: Landon Pigg

Singer-songwriter Landon Pigg released his debut album, "LP" in July. Although Pigg is a rookie recording artist, he's not completely unfamiliar with the music business.

The 23-year-old is from Nashville, America's music city, and his father is a studio musician.

He visits Second Cup Café to play songs from "LP."

Pigg says he got his early musical inspiration by mining his father's record collection.

In his official biography, Pigg remembers "Ray Stevens being the first CD I ever owned." His musical influences include Rufus Wainwright, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and Harry Nilsson.

He credits his mother for nurturing his poetic side, and admits that "she still cuts my hair."

Pigg says his songs "are about things like losing love and finding hope — about how life will start to make sense and then stop again."
