Search for missing Pa. woman after car found abandoned

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- Police in Pennsylvania are searching for a missing woman after the car she was driving was found abandoned on a roadway near King of Prussia, reports CBS Philly.

Deirdre Magolon, 20, of Royersford, was last seen just before 7 p.m. Friday when she took her sister's black Mazda without permission, family told the station.

Magolon's family told the station the car stalled, and police discovered it soon after -- around 7:20 p.m. Magolon, however, wasn't with the car. It was discovered unlocked with a purse containing money inside, Upper Providence Police Sergeant Raymond Bechtel reports the station.

"Anytime you have a youngster, especially female, that's out and away from home, there's a greater chance of them being victimized and that's what we're concerned about here," Bechtel told the station.

The family described Magolon as a "free spirit" who has left home before, but only for a few hours.

"As the days go on, you just don't know and you just rack your brain and we just pray she's safe," her sister, Jamie Albert, told the station.

Family says they don't believe she has a cell phone or credit cards with her.

The station reports there's no evidence of foul play.

Magolon is described as five feet, five inches tall and 125 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call 484-391-2336.
