Kingston recently opened up about the near-fatal accident, which happened on May 29 when he crashed his watercraft into a Miami Beach bridge.
"I'm doing good. I'm feeling great. I'm excited. I'm happy," he told MTV News. "A lot of people don't know it was a deeper situation. I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries; it was a life-or-death situation."
Kingston was set to be sent home from the hospital for injuries related to the crash when he felt pain in his chest, he revealed to MTV. Doctors discovered that his aorta was torn and blood had filled up in his chest. The singer needed several surgeries to correct the condition, but added that he's "100 percent right now."
"What the accident basically taught me is, in life, you have to count your blessings," Kingston said. "You just got to keep God present at all times and think about the consequences."
