Scarlett Johansson to portray Janet Leigh in "Making of Psycho"

(CBS News) Scarlett Johansson as a scream queen? The actress has signed on to portray actress Janet Leigh in "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho."

The film will center on the director's 1960 horror classic, with its famous shower murder scene at the Bates Motel.

According to Variety, James D'Arcy will take on the role of actor Anthony Perkins, who played the motel owner-manager, Norman Bates, in "Psycho."

Anthony Hopkins has been cast as legendary filmmaker Hitchcock, and Helen Mirren will play the director's wife, Alma.

The film chronicles both Hitchcock's efforts and struggles to make "Psycho," now a horror classic ranked No. 18 on the American Film Institute's Greatest Movies of All Time list.

This is just one of many films Johansson has on the docket. The starlet is also attached to "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3."
