Samsung announces Galaxy S4 mini
Samsung announced Thursday a smaller version of its flagship smartphone -- the Galaxy S4 mini.
The smaller, cheaper mobile phone features a 4.3-inch screen, 1.7 gigahertz dual-core processor and 8-megapixel camera. The Galaxy S4 mini weights about 3.8 ounces.
The mini smartphone comes loaded with Android version 4.2.2, or Jelly Bean. Samsung will offer several versions of the handset, including 4G LTE, 3G and 3G with a dual SIM.
Similar features will be offered on the smaller smartphone, the like front- and rear-facing cameras, translator and a health tracker.
Samsung's flagship phone, the Galaxy S4, was announced in March. In May, the tech giant reported that 10 million units of the device have been sold.
The Galaxy S4 mini will come in black and white. There are currently no details on price or launch date.
