Samantha Bee takes down Texas lawmaker over anti-abortion bill
It's best to know how a procedure actually works before making laws about it. At least that's the lesson Samantha Bee tried to teach a Texas representative who co-authored an anti-abortion bill.
On this week's episode of "Full Frontal," Bee sat down with Texas state Rep. Dan Flynn (R), a co-author of HB2, the healthcare law that's being reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court this week to determine whether it imposes restrictions that unconstitutionally limit a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy.
"How does removing access to health care increase access to health care?" Bee asked pointedly before going on to point out that a traditional abortion procedure does not involve "cutting on people's body," as he suggested.
Bee doesn't go easy on the pro-choice side, either, laying into NARAL president Ilyse Hogue for not doing more to combat the anti-abortion movement.
