Sam Smith calls Oscars performance "worst moment of my life"
While Dustin Lance Black and others have been busy criticizing Sam Smith for his lack of familiarity with Oscar history and LGBT winners, Smith himself has been much more preoccupied with his performance from Sunday night's ceremony.
Smith performed his Bond theme, "the Writing's on the Wall," during the 88th Academy Awards, and it seemed to go off without a hitch. But to hear Smith himself discuss it, the performance was a disaster.
"It was the worst moment of my life," Smith told The BBC after the show. "Singing was horrible. I hated every minute."
The tune went on to win the Oscar for Best Original Song, so it couldn't have been that bad.
