SAG Awards 2012: Fashion hits and misses
(CBS) If there was a SAG Award for best-dressed ensemble, it would go to the cast of "The Help."
The cast of the Deep South drama dressed to impress on Sunday night, and it paid off - the film won for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, along with acting honors for Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer.

Davis was a knockout in a white, Grecian gown by Marchesa with gold detailing, while Spencer continued her awards season love affair with Tadashi Shoji (she also wore the designer to the Golden Globes) in a sparkling, draped silver number.
They weren't the only "Help" stars that shined on the red carpet - Emma Stone looked elegant in a black, tea-length Alexander McQueen number with a lace bodice, and Jessica Chastain was both glamorous and sexy in a sleek, deep blue Calvin Klein column gown.
Many other red carpet hits had pops of color - "Modern Family" costars Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara in berry hues from Temperley London and Marchesa, Michelle Williams in a red Valentino with lace sleeves, Kyra Sedgwick in a red Pucci gown with cutouts and Emily Blunt in jade-hued Oscar de la Renta.
Others opted for pale hues with positive results, like Lea Michele's gray Versace with a thigh-high slit, Naya Rivera's sparkling silver Naeem Kahn, Berenice Bejo's champagne-colored Ralph Lauren gown, Zoe Saldana in Givenchy haute couture, Julianna Margulies in dove-gray Calvin Klein and newly-engaged Katrina Bowden in a white Amsale gown.
Dramatic black was also seen on the red carpet, like Angelina Jolie's backless satin Jenny Packham gown paired with gold jewelry, Ashlee Simpson in a sparkly black number also by Packham, Stone's McQueen dress and Stacy Kiebler in a lace Marchesa gown.
Kristen Wiig was among the night's worst dressed - not because of her Balenciaga halter gown, but the bondage-inspired choker she paired with it. The two definitely did not mix.
"The Descendants" star Shailene Woodley was another miss, in a floral patterned L'Wren Scott frock that looked better suited as a tablecloth or curtains.
Other red carpet mistakes were made by "30 Rock" actress Jane Krakowski in a black gown with a strange-looking embellished breastplate; "Glee" star Heather Morris, in an odd dress with leather panels and a sheer skirt; Busy Phillips in a casual, patterned number that looked more appropriate for the beach; and Kaley Cuoco's mint green, feathery Ramona Keveza gown with a Heidi braid in her hair.
But the riskiest choice came from "Bridesmaids" star Rose Byrne, who opted to wear pants on the red carpet by way of a white, beaded Elie Saab jumpsuit. It's something fashion fans with either love or loathe.
