Roddy White steals TD pass from teammate

Despite a prolific season, Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez had a quiet game Thursday - in part because he was silenced by his own teammate.

Gonzalez was targeted just twice in the game, catching one pass for 14 yards - but, as you can see in the video below, the other pass intended for Gonzalez was snatched away by teammate Roddy White in the end zone.

Of course this isn't the first time a player has inadvertently stolen a pass intended for a teammate.

But was it by accident?

Entering the game, White had 6 touchdowns on the season, and the only Atlanta receiver with more was Gonzalez (who has 7 scores). So White was able to tie his teammate by pilfering the tight end's pass in the second quarter - and then surpass him in the third quarter with another touchdown catch.

Hmm. Was the touchdown thievery a coincidence or friendly competition between teammates?

Either way, White was able to cement his place in team history, becoming the first Falcons receiver ever to go over the 1,000-yard receiving mark for five consecutive seasons. Not only that but his two TD catches from QB Matt Ryan crowned them the best QB-WR duo in franchise history with 34 touchdowns together.

We will see if Gonzalez has any payback tricks up his sleeve next week when the Falcons play in New Orleans.
