Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to induct new class in Los Angeles
A new class of performers will be inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame on Thursday night at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre.
This year's inductees are Heart, Rush, Donna Summer, Randy Newman, rap group Public Enemy, blues singer Albert King. Lou Adler and Quincy Jones will receive the 2013 Ahmet Ertegun lifetime achievement honors.
The 28th annual gala will feature performances by some of the new inductees, as well as Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson. A host of other stars will be in attendance, too. Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins will induct Rush. Usher will perform for Jones, while Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains will team up with Heart; Chris Cornell will induct Heart. Directors Spike Lee and Harry Belafonte will induct Public Enemy, and Carole King will perform for Adler.
Other appearances will be made by John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr., comedy team Cheech & Chong and Don Henley.
The induction ceremony will air on HBO on May 18 at 9 p.m. ET.
