Robert Gibbs Returns
Robert Gibbs, Barack Obama's former press secretary and trusted confidant, returns to center stage this week after months out of the political spotlight.
Gibbs, who left his post in the administration last February, will defend his old boss' record following the GOP debate in New Hampshire on Monday.
The longtime Obama aide will appear on Tuesday on CBS' "The Early Show" as a surrogate of the president's campaign for re-election.
He is not a paid spokesman, but will be speaking on behalf of the campaign, according to the Obama 2012 press office.
Since he left the administration, Gibbs has kept a low profile - except when it was rumored he would join the staff of Facebook. So far, while Gibbs has a profile on the social networking website, he is not an employee.
