Robert Downey Jr. welcomes a son

(CBS) It's a boy for Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, producer Susan Downey.

The couple welcomed son Exton Elias Downey at 7:24 a.m. on Tuesday in Los Angeles, his rep confirmed to People.

The baby boy weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz., and is 20 inches long, according to the magazine.

Downey, 46, and his wife, 38, revealed in August that they were expecting. In December, the actor shared that they were having a boy.

Exton is the first child for the couple. Downey also has an 18-year-old son, Indio, from his marriage to Deborah Falconer.
