Rob Riggle talks "21 Jump Street" sequel, the thrill of football season
Rob Riggle is gearing up for a busy fall -- with the start of football season, a few movies in the works and a possible revisit to "21 Jump Street."
Though he wouldn't divulge too much, Riggle hinted that he will appear in the sequel to 2012's "21 Jump Street," starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Riggle portrayed hard-charging physical education teacher Mr. Walters in the 2012 film reboot of the popular '80s and '90s TV series. And the follow-up is expected to hit theaters on June 13, 2014.
The 43-year-old actor/comedian, who has starred in "The Hangover" and "The Internship," will also voice a character in the upcoming animated film "Hell & Back" and will keep an eye on possible next projects.
"The way it works in Hollywood is you eat what you kill. I'm out there every day trying to find work," he told CBSNews.com.
Riggle, though, does have a steady job this fall -- and that's as a host on "Fox NFL Sunday," where he does football comedy sketches. As part of his pre-game TV post, Riggle is encouraging viewers to get involved in the game via Bud Light's "Fan Zone" app, which challenges football fans to make real-time predictions about the games they're watching -- with the chance to win prizes and a trip to the Super Bowl. It's also a place where fans can share their football game superstitions.
For the former "Saturday Night Live" star, football is more than just a hosting gig. A lover of Kansas City Chiefs, Riggle said he loves all aspects of football season: "I love hanging out with my friends and watching fantasy football. I love the smokey smell burning leaves in autumn and that cold chill when you put on a sweatshirt and you're tailgating."
