Ricky Gervais reprises David Brent of "The Office"
Thought you had seen the last of David Brent, didn't you?
Ricky Gervais catapulted to fame playing the character of David Brent on the BBC hit show "The Office," which ran from 2001-2003. Now he's reprising his role in a series of online video clips that launch May 20 as part of YouTube's upcoming comedy week.
In a new teaser clip, Gervais -- as Brent -- appears in a faux tutorial dubbed "Learn Guitar with David Brent." Describing himself as a "teacher, rebel, songwriter," Brent introduces one of his songs about being a sales rep, calling it "very personal." Expect to see some full songs from Brent next week. Get ready for "Spaceman Came Down."
Of course, the British version of "The Office" spawned the stateside edition, which ends its run Thursday after eight years.
