Richard Moreno, Ariz. man, accidentally shoots 2-year-old niece, officials say

(CBS/AP) TUCSON, Ariz. - Officials in Pima County, Ariz. say a man was arrested after he accidentally fired a bullet through a wall and struck his 2-year-old niece Saturday.

According to CBS affiliate KPHO, Richard Moreno was visiting a relative's home when he accidentally discharged the weapon.

The bullet went through a wall and hit the girl in the leg while she was in the living room, causing non life-threatening injuries, reports the station.

The 23-year-old man allegedly fled the scene after the shooting but surrendered to detectives at his mother's home later.

Moreno was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault.
