Reports: Doctor accused of swapping prescriptions for sex
FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- A West Virginia doctor has been arrested after three women told investigators he exchanged prescriptions for sexual acts.
Fairmont Police Lt. Douglas Yost is quoted by news outlets as saying that 65-year-old Dr. Eugenio A. Menez was arrested at his home Thursday and charged with 15 felony counts of delivery of a schedule II controlled substance.
Yost says three female patients told police that Menez coerced sexual acts from them, including sexual intercourse and oral sex, in exchange for oxycodone and fentanyl prescriptions.
Yost says Menez didn't deny having sex with patients, but he said it was unrelated to his writing of prescriptions.
According to the news media reports, Magistrate Hank Middlemas says Menez could face between one and 15 years in prison on each of the 15 felony counts.
