Report: Mets Ace Santana Accused of Rape in Fla.

AP

Mets ace Johan Santana has been accused of raping a woman on a Florida golf course, according to a police report obtained by the New York Daily News.

However, police said there was not enough evidence to prosecute the two-time Cy Young award winner.

"The alleged victim's statement is not consistent with other witnesses," according to the Lee County Sheriff's Department document dated Jan. 19.

The woman alleges she and Santana were walking on a golf course near Fort Meyers in October when he assaulted her.

The woman claims he ripped off her shirt and "grabbed her hair" when she tried to resist.

However, instead of calling the police, the woman "continued to sit at the tennis courts as Johan played tennis with another person," according to the report.

"I am aware of the situation," said Santana, who is married with three kids. "What I can tell you is police investigated those claims last year and I was not charged with anything, and the case is closed."
