Report: Body found in search for missing pregnant woman

RICHMOND DALE, Ohio -- Crews have discovered a body in the search for missing Ohio woman Shasta Himelrick, reports The Chillicothe Gazette reports.

The 20-year-old was last seen Dec. 26. She had recently announced to her family that she was pregnant, reports CBS affiliate WBNS.

Himelrick's car was later found abandoned at a rural intersection with no gas and a dead battery. The car's doors were open, and several of the woman's belongings, including her cell phone and bank card, were found inside, reports the station.

The body was discovered in the Scioto River between noon and 1 p.m. Friday and appears to have on clothing similar to what Himelrick was wearing when she was last seen alive, reports the paper.

The body has not yet been identified. However, family members told WBNS it is Himelrick.

The woman was last seen on surveillance video walking into a gas station in rural Richmond Dale, roughly 50 miles south of Columbus in Ross County, at around 3:15 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, according to the station.

The body was found about a mile south of the area where crews had concentrated their search, near where her car was found, reports the paper.

Shirley Himelrick, the woman's grandmother, told the station that detectives told her "a little bit of blood" was found in her granddaughter's car.
