(CBS) - Rep. Anthony Weiner, who has decided to step down in the wake of his Twitter scandal, exchanged emails with ex-porn star Ginger Lee after the scandal broke, advising her on her stripping career, according to TMZ.

Lee told Weiner she was getting offers from strip clubs across the country, but she didn't want to do the "stripper cashes in w/clubs because she may or may not have communicated w/somebody" thing, says TMZ.

In email exchanges Lee, real name Candice Raines according to a New York Post story, reportedly referred to herself in as "the most famous stripper in America right now."

At least she's modest.

According to the entertainment website, Lee asked Weiner for advice in an email, saying, "Just tell me what to do or say, this stuff is so far out of my league I can't even pretend to know what to do."

Weiner responded, "I want you to make decisions that help you be healthy and sane. We need to be zen about this."

Lee gave a press conference yesterday where she said that Weiner sent her sexually suggestive messages, wanted her to lie on his behalf and should step down. Lee returned to work after the press conference for a full-nude show at an Atlanta strip club. She was paid three times her normal fee, reports the New York Post.
