Remembering Charles Kuralt
Nobody could celebrate Independence Day better than Sunday Morning's original anchor, Charles Kuralt, who died on the Fourth of July 10 years ago.
Kuralt liked to quote Founding Father John Adams, who wrote in July of 1776 that Independence Day "ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shows, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations."
In 1990, Charles Kuralt put together a scrapbook of some of his favorite July 4 memories, and we thought they should be remembered forever more as well.
