Reinventing White Button-Down Shirts
Not only should every woman own a little black dress, they should also have some classic white button-down shirts.
That comes from no less than Glamour magazine's executive fashion editor-at-large, Suze Yalof Schwartz.
She says the shirts often get overlooked, but it's time to pull some out of the closet and freshen them up!
On The Early Show Wednesday, Schwartz showed five new ways to wear them, and none cost more than $100. That, she says, is the beauty of the white shirt: You can find a great one at any price-point, from those you'd find in Target, to ones from Ralph Lauren.
Schwartz suggests that you don't want to just wear them under a suit blazer. The ones she displayed were versatile enough for nearly every occasion.

The top from Libertine's line for Target is a feminine blouse in a modern shape. Paired with shorts, it's a work-worthy look that will keep you covered, but cool. A sturdy silver bracelet adds just a bit of glamour.

Schwartz loves the shape on the Club Monaco top with its corset-like stitching and cinched waist. It's a great shape to pair with a bright swingy skirt. A ton of gold bangles and gold platform heels make it a fun day-to-night look.

There's nothing easier to throw on in the morning than a dress, and very few dresses are as classic and easy as a white shirtdress. To dress the look up, we added bold jewelry and metallic shoes, but it would be just as chic for a weekend at the beach with your favorite flip-flops.

The new shape in jeans coming into the fall is the high-waist. The look is modern and put together without being stuffy, and a sleeveless, ruffled button-down from Victoria's Secret gives it a feminine twist. The jeans aren't for anyone with a short torso, but they'll make your legs look inches longer.
