The Midwest proved to be the only region to proceed according to seedings through the regional semifinals.

Michigan State completely shut down Syracuse in the second half of their Midwest regional semifinal game.

Not to be outdone, Iowa State cruised past UCLA in a much-hyped game that the Cyclones dominated from the outset.
