Reese Witherspoon goes "Wild" in new trailer
Reese Witherspoon is about to embark on an 1,100-mile solo hiking trip in the new film, "Wild."
The first trailer for the upcoming drama from "Dallas Buyers Club" director Jean-Marc Vallee made its debut Thursday.
Witherspoon shared a link to the trailer on her official Facebook page, warning her fans that "it's called #wild for a reason...":
The film is based on the 2012 No. 1 New York Times best-selling memoir from Cheryl Strayed, who in her mid-20s went on an extended hike along the Pacific Crest Trail in the hopes of finding herself emotionally.
"Girls" and "Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus" actress Gabby Hoffman also stars, along with Laura Dern.
Witherspoon already has an Oscar for playing June Carter in 2005's "Walk the Line," and it seems she's aiming for another big win, judging by her stripped-down performance in the trailer for this film that's poised to become an awards contender.
"Wild" journeys into theaters on Dec. 5.
